One of those “nice to have” purchases that I have been eyeing for a while but is especially tempting me today is a pressure washer coz it’s 20% off. Should I ask my wife before I “submit order” or ask for forgiveness later?

@pratik How much of the stuff you pressure wash will be things she wants clean that you'd have otherwise left dirty?
@pratik order it, hide it, actually use it once, then have the “I thought I told you?” conversation during the post-glow of having cleaned the shit out of the siding and patio.
@pratik why not gift wrap it, and present it as her gift for (insert occasion of your choice)?
@philipbrewer Well, I'm the obsessive cleaner types in the house. This is mostly for the backyard patio, driveway, and landscaping paving stones.
@jsonbecker Sigh! I totally would do that if it were smaller.
@pratik it sounds like a much better anniversary present than, say, a cement mixer for example...
@pratik I guess I was figuring if you cleaned stuff you wouldn't have cleaned—things your wife would be pleased to have cleaned—then she'd probably support the purchase. But if you cleaned the same stuff, and it just saved you a few minutes or made it slightly more entertaining to clean, then I can see her figuring that she didn't really come out ahead on the purchase.
