Ulysses has been acting up in ways that I cannot understand. Posts disappear while I’m writing them, after spending minutes getting all the photos in order.

No longer trust it.

@maique I stopped using it a long time ago so I'm not familiar with this stuff. It used to be a good app.

@greghiggins No biggie. It bugs me a little, but I’m doing great with the usual Drafts & Mimi combo.

@maique yeah. Drafts is the reason I stopped using Ulysses all together. Every article I write for the newspaper, online publications, etc is done in Drafts.

@greghiggins @maique I love Drafts, I just need to figure out the pesky issue I keep having with shortcodes. Every time I post the braces and LT/GT symbols get converted to the URL encoded %gobbledygook, and I have to go back and edit the post to fix it.

@pimoore @maique That's an interesting issue to have. I don't recall seeing that one before.

@greghiggins @maique I can’t figure out what’s going on, as the post rendered fine to my test blog. When I went back to the draft, however, and resent it to my live blog it mangled the formatting. If I can’t figure out something soon I’m going to post in the forums.

@pimoore @maique That was going to be my next question: about posting in the forums.

@pratik I just pick the photos I want to use, already in the order I want them to show up (not mandatory, but helps), and upload them. Export the Markdown result to Drafts.

Open Drafts, add alt text (for now, as the Mimi update will solve this), and write the post around them.

That’s it. Just press the button, and it gets published 🙂

@maique @pratik I basically do the same as Maique. By doing that I can put the photo's throughout the post where I want them instead of the default that MB does.

@greghiggins @maique Sounds perfect. I have to be more mindful when I post multiple photos. Now, if only @samgrover also made a Mac app for Mimi 😉

@pratik It's on the to-do list, with a due date of "Someday" 😉
