Am I wrong in my understanding of Critical Race Theory?

As I understand it:
It is a graduate level, post college/university, theory looking at American history and acknowledging that race has played, and still plays, a critical role in understanding events.

@joelhamill Yup. But a significant portion of the white people don’t want to admit to that underlying premise. The tipping point was the 1619 Project that exposed for even the founding of America was based in slavery.

@pratik I don't see how anyone can be confused that America was founded during slavery and the union was created, forged, and built on the work of people who were not free.

@joelhamill beats me too. I think they know but don’t want to admit it. Otherwise will have to give up power.

@joelhamill @pratik Very small-minded people think that talking about race will cause a lot of Bad Things to happen, or that their kids will feel uncomfortable learning about history or something. Never mind the present day uncomfortable that remains while we don’t talk about it.
