Does anyone knows if any UX research exists on the ideal post length for a timeline view?
Twitter has 280 chars (a remnant from SMS). I think FB truncates after 400 chars. But academic abstracts are 150-300 words (not chars).

@pratik This would be interesting to know. I recall somewhere that the reason Twitter upped it's character count—remember when it was only 140?!—was that their data showed Japanese and Chinese contained more content in the space. I sometimes wish 280 was more, but not much more. Maybe even just 400.

@lukemperez Yes, but don't want to get on the slippery slope until you end up with big chunk of text that looks like a wall of text instead of a timeline.
