Jay Graber is stepping aside as CEO, staying at Bluesky to work on other things:

I’ve grown a lot as a leader and had the privilege of assembling the best team I’ve ever worked with. As we’ve grown, I’ve found that people thrive when they’re in a role where their passions overlap with their strengths. This is as true for me as it is for our team.

Toni Schneider will be CEO. I expect 2026 will be an important year for Bluesky, presumably with new ideas for increasing revenue beyond domain name registration.

@manton I tried it but closed the account because I don’t trust it. I no longer trust any of these VC funded, need to make money, social services.

To me they are trying to be another twitter. Eventually censorship will be added, if it isnt already.

I think Mastodon is the only trustworthy social network with no agenda and no owners. And no investors. It’s literally by the people, for the people.
And micro.blog, which isn’t a social network per sè, but it’s trustworthy with no agenda or VC.

@manton Bluesky should not exist. If they truly were focused on a decentralised social platform theyd move all their users over to Mastodon and shut Blursky.

No. They are here for profit. Make no mistake.
