That thing wherein you’re struggling for sleep, feeling unhealthy, have miserable moods…?

Yeah.

  • Stop looking at screens so much.
  • Spend some time just concentrating on your breathing.
  • Let your mind wander and think over whatever is there.
  • Be honest about what is good for you.

@poetalegre I write these for myself as much as anything else. It's so easy to forget the reliable, well-trodden ways from before the pocket computer. Little habits of the good kind, rather than the bad.

@issimonwoods I had been thinking in a similar vein when I read your post. Sometimes the answer to our malady is simple. You share this, I read it and know it’s true, and that reminder propels me to act responsibly.

I read another post of yours that stuck with me today. It was something about sharing ideas and not just writing app reviews; write essays regarding thoughts. I too write for myself. Sometimes I just like to share a thought. In some ways it’s like a diary to me. Long ago when I use to do seminars we would talk about insights. If you share your insights it breathes life into them. Otherwise they sort of die and are forgotten.

@poetalegre Yep, I agree. That's one of the reasons why that other post I made was a bad idea; the degree to which that gatekeeper mentality is so utterly wrong is large, and has been proven to be wrong time and again. Sharing makes almost everything better, for everyone involved, especially when we all do it in our own way and not in spite of it.
