@huntsyea I’m a watch snob without the budget to match. Currently going with a Seiko King Sam, G-Shock 5600, and a few budget collectors (like Casio). One day I’ll be able to grab one of those Hamiltons or a Brietling, etc.
@Mtt Oh wow! That X-Wind Auto Chrono is gorgeous! I would gladly give up my Apple Watch Ultra for that watch.
@maique That’s a classic! I used to have the bigger version of it (38mm is small for me), and I sold it. Absolutely regret it.
@Mtt I used to feel 40 was my size. Got a 39, and the 40 started to feel huge. It’s mostly a height thing, as the 39 is also slimmer. Then decided to give this 38 a try, and it’s the one I use most of the time, when I’m not wearing the Apple Watch. Love it.
@maique I’m tall with big hands and I’ve always felt 38/39 doesn’t look right. 40-42 is the sweet spot for me, I think. Currently wearing the white dial Seiko King Samurai as my daily driver. G-Shock 5600 when I need a beater.
@Mtt The Seiko is beautiful, love the brand too. Hard to find value for money matching Seiko.
@maique @mtt @gregmoore If I ditch my ᴡᴀᴛᴄʜ, a Seiko will almost assuredly be what I get. I have a Timex solar field watch already, but I'd love to acquire a nice automatic.
@pimoore I have sold most of my Seiko watches, and kept the SRP777. I almost never use it since I got the Hamilton, I find it enormous now. Love it, but doesn’t get a lot of wrist time. @mtt @gregmoore
@Mtt I love watches but am just getting into them! Currently have two Seiko 5’s, a Todd Snyder Timex Marlin (Liquor Store), and just recently got a Tissot Gentleman Powermatic. Holding out for my dream Tudor now.
@Mtt Those are great looking watches, my buddy got PRX after he saw my Tissot and loves it.
@maique Oh don't get me wrong, I'd love to buy a Hamilton. As someone else mentioned the value for money of Seiko is hard to beat, though. I also have large wrists, so I can both handle and visually pull off larger watches.
@bradenslen Orient is a great starter brand. I’m a big fan of the Bambino, but their dive watches are very nice too.
@ddanielson Damn, that Farer Lander and Hamilton are both super nice—splitting hairs amongst that whole group, I admit.
@Mtt Yeah Orient watches are affordable which puts them in my bracket. I was just looking at the Hamilton's at the jeweler and they were high priced for me.
Here's the Orient Scout watch I picked up a few years ago. ramblinggit.com/2019/03/1...
