What the hell is a micro-influencer? Social Media & their manipulative algorithms are turning our communities into a bunch of self-centred nitwits.
@ridwan This business of calling oneself an influencer needs to stop. It's a fluff label at best, and as you point out manipulative at worst. I still recall seeing the most pointless and dumb tweets get liked and re-tweeted to infinity, simply because the person was an "influencer" with large follower counts. It's analagous to segments I still see on the live morning news, where guests title themselves as "lifestyle expert"—proceeding to then hawk a bunch of wares on television. So, you're a product marketer then. 🙄
@pimoore YEP! "lifestyle expert or guru" ... another annoying term for sleazy online marketer. One of the dumbest thing I have observed from these "gurus" who talk about "minimalism" and "intentional living" end up selling Audible & Skillshare subscriptions. I enjoy trolling these gurus & their followers with my troll account on YouTube & Reddit. I have a good laugh and enjoying make them mad! 🤣

It all started with this numpty, Tim Ferriss. During his peak and when he was all over the internet, I used to wonder, why is he obsessed with self improvement and what a pathetic way to live life.
@jasonekratz Honestly, I'm at a stage where I'm tired of all these lifestyle videos. This year I wanted to focus on reading and listening to few selected podcasts. I'm already taking the necessary steps like listening to podcasts or audiobooks rather than putting on YouTube in the background.
