To do:

  • Set up my YouTube subscriptions in a reader.
  • Test iCloud as a replacement for Gmail.
    • Shouldn’t be a problem since this account isn’t used for personal correspondence.
  • Set up iCloud to replace Gmail.
  • Delete Google account.

@pimoore Next on the chopping block is Amazon. We're already putting much more effort into re-establishing our network for buying local and so on. I think we'll be able to go free and clear once we have a car.

@SimonWoods My only “Amazon” tie at this point is my Eero router, though the company still has full autonomy over its product. Leaving Google was a huge weight off my mind, more than anything else.

@SimonWoods We're living on an island in Washington State's Puget Sound. Retail here is (mostly) terrible. So for us it's either a trip to Seattle, which consumes most of a day, or ... Amazon. I've been getting better at ordering from a product's actual vendor, but that's not always practical.
