@Munish What do Strongbox / Bitwarden offer that 1Password doesn't provide? Is Strongbox / Bitwarden user-friendly enough for the non-geek/nerd user? I have not used either.
Strongbox claims to be "Built for Power Users". What does that mean?
@khurtwilliams I am looking to make a switch since my current password manager suffered a security breach. I looked at the products listed here, but decided to go with Keeper.
@khurtwilliams @palousegeo Keeper is another good one. Remember, it’s not all about changing apps, you need to change your 130 plus passwords too.
@khurtwilliams RE: Lifetime subscription and you can store backups/syncs on iCloud or your own cloud instead of the providers. Like 1Password and Lastpass.
@jakelacaze @khurtwilliams @Munish yes Bitwarden's price is unbeatable. It does everything the average person would be need too, even got my non-techsavvy wife setup and using it.
@mindofaaronw @jakelacaze @palousegeo @khurtwilliams also a timely conversation, with their announcement.
@Munish @mindofaaronw @jakelacaze @palousegeo @khurtwilliams Am I the only one that worries about the sentence near the end about BW raising millions of dollars from investors?
@pimoore always a problem. That’s why Open source option and KeePass options are always looked by those in the know.
The reality is, as @khurtwilliams pointed out. For a easy to use and intuitive password manager for novice people, 1Password is great. The key is, just keep those passwords somewhere secure
@pimoore @Munish @jakelacaze @palousegeo @khurtwilliams I believe they've always had VC funding of some kind. They seem to be making a larger push into enterprise PW management though.
@khurtwilliams I was originally planning to go with 1Password, and was checking out reviews which brought several more to my attention. Keeper was noted for being good as a cross-platform product. I use both Windows and iOS so that was important to me. I liked the interface. It easily imported my content from LastPass (200+ items) and kept my folder structure. I've been using it for several days now and like it better than the previous product. It is also on a decent sale right now. One feature that I like is how it allows me to easily change a password while storing the old passwords (in case the update fails).
@mindofaaronw I’ve used 1Password for several years. My wife and I need to share certain accounts and also with our adult children. We’ve got family plan pricing.
@palousegeo interesting that I also chose (long before keeper existed) 1Password because of the cross-platform (Windows, macOS, iOS, Android, Linux) support, even though I don't need to use it outside of the Apple ecosystem.
@khurtwilliams I imagine if I had gone with 1Password instead of Keeper I would be just as satisfied. I don't think there is a killer app in this sector.
