When people complain about “the long dark cold nights of winter” I’m over here absolutely loving my winter clothes and the spooky dark and the refreshing rain and the sound of rain on the windows and the sweet comfort of a good hot drink and… just, I love it. ❄️

@SimonWoods Absolutely this! I only wish we had more snow other than the three days at Christmas so far. Four days later it was melted and gone. I also love nighttime, which always has a quiet calmness to it.

@escribitionist Now I feel compelled to write up the list...

@pimoore We had a few days of snow about half-way through December and it was beautiful; I got lucky and captured a time lapse video. I find the sharp cold that comes with snow to be refreshing, the risky ice notwithstanding. Really wish we could get more of it without any rain.

@SimonWoods Nice turn of phrase: "the risky ice notwithstanding" — conjures up an image of someone falling backwards with arms windmilling. 😆

@SimonWoods I think this must represent a difference of opinion between people who live in solid, well-insulated houses vs people who live in drafty homes where heating in the winter months costs a minimum of 25c per hour per room. Summer to me is the time of year where I can migrate from room to room inside my own home freely without worrying about runny noses or numb fingers. It's bliss. (Just to give you another perspective!)
