Observations on gas prices:

A few days ago my gas was $3.59/gallon. This morning it is $4.09/gallon up 50 cents in half a week.

No one seems to have slowed down to conserve gas in their cars/trucks.

@ronguest It's $3.99/gallon at the station we usually fill up. The price will not change depending on usage at this stage. The consumption is already baked in. We just have to consume less to conserve our finances (and our environment post-war).

@pratik Today it was ~$10.50/gal. here. So glad I don’t have/need a car right now. The electricity bill is high enough.

@odd @pratik @ronguest I want to get an EV for our next car, I don’t care what it takes. So sick and tired of this price gouging, it was already bad enough before the war broke out.

@pimoore @ronguest @odd We are hoping to replace my wife’s car (Honda Fit) and buy a crossover or a SUV but an electric one so hope there are good options. There are many more in the sedan category. My other car, a Prius, is nearly 10 years old and still runs well.

@pimoore I don’t know about Canadian power prices, but in Europe they also skyrocketed last year, like triple normal amounts, but if you’re only taking smaller trips, the cost should be smaller, and the environmental impact also so. ⚡️🔋

@odd I don’t know about the rest of Canada, but in Ontario we get price gouged for power too.
