Upgraded my cellphone plan. The extra ā¬3 will get me 5GB data a month on top the the old 5GB limit, and 5G. Turns out the vaccine & booster werenāt enough to get those speeds!

@mjdescy Right?? Saving my life was a great selling point, I'll give them that, but the added speed was the thing that really made me go for it... š¤£
@JMaxB So true! Turns out it's rather inexpensive to have 5G in the end, but when will I trust another sales pitch?? It has been destroyed.
@maique š You think thatās a lot, you should see our cellphone costs in Canada, theyāre extortionate.
@pimoore I know, I know. We talked about this before. The ā¬3 are the upgrade. At the moment Iām paying ā¬25 a month for 10GB data, an extra 10GB for chat apps, and 10GB for social media apps. All 5G where available. And 500 mins/SMS, but I donāt use them at all. Maybe 20/30 a month. Not too much.
As we spend a LOT of time home I donāt even need that much, but wanted to have 5G, and thatās the cheapest plan available with it.
@maique Nice, thatās a good plan! How do you find your 5G speeds, as Iāve still read they leave a lot to be desired in many places?
@pimoore At home, where I tested, they were nice.
Itās not available everywhere yet, mostly downtown on bigger cities. Theyāre expanding coverage as we speak.
@maique Thatās impressive for a cellular connection, especially as your upload speed is 10x faster than mine and I have broadband.
@pimoore Thatās not great, and below what I have on my broadband. Iād go crazy with those speeds when uploading photos to send to clients!
@maique Tell me about it. Iām glad I donāt create YouTube content or something heavy as it would be completely unfeasible. What pisses me off is my ISP says itās an infrastructure issue, which is horse pucky as their business customers have access to un-throttled upload speeds.
@pimoore I guess thereās no other provider? Or they might also have the same business practices?
