@svenseebeck Your blog is looking really great! Charter is one of my favourite fonts too, and Gruvbox is my second favourite colour scheme after Nord. Interesting idea about base64 encoding fonts, do you have a link to the walkthrough how you set that up? Browsers cache CSS files, so that would automatically apply to the fonts, in addition to eliminating the extra loading of the files themselves.
@pimoore Thanks, nice to hear to you like it! It is really simple. I found this tool (https://hellogreg.github.io/woff2base/) with which it is merely a matter of copy/paste, meaning: just right for my coding-level. I don’t use GitHub and only edit a copy the Simple theme in the web-interface. This seemed the easiest way to load a font without having to host it somewhere.
@svenseebeck Thanks, I’ll check that out and likely use it for my next theme. I wouldn’t ever want to use third party font loads now (especially Google), but this gives the advantages of self hosting without the hassle of uploading.
