It is too easy for personal epiphanies to pass from awareness
@hjalm Agreed completely. Far to easy, especially, in this age of so much distraction—even pre-pandemic—and negativity. All the more reason to always have a notebook handy on our person to record these fleeting moments when they blink into existence.
@Pilchuck sometimes those 3AM thoughts are incredible. Sometimes in the light of day they require further analysis
@otaviocc I love paper, too. Was hoping the digital experience had improved more. An iPad, an Apple Pencil and Paperlike screen protector are not the same. Software options are inflexible or too open. Will put myself in a better place before I do additional tool discovery
@hjalm I feel this acutely! Here's my always-near-me setup. The Goby Design leather cover will take any 3.5" x 5.5" refills.
@cygnoir That's really lovely! I don't have a leather cover at the moment, but I'm using the Leuchterm1917. I did have a leather cover when I tried the Midori Traveler's Notebook fillers a few years back. All part of the journey! ;)
@hjalm Leuchtturm1917 notebooks are excellent. I do so love the journey of experimenting with different analog tools! 😀
@otaviocc I made my first notebooks for my Main Squeeze for her Christmas presents, using super watercolour paper and Coptic stitch (she’s an artist). I’m not sure I would want to make my own books for actual, written notes. What’s your motivation?
@frostedechoes I’ve got a Moleskine now as well, wondered if the L1917 were better.
Off topic: I’ve been impressed by your newsletters, hope you’ll keep doing them, I discover many interesting things by them.
@frostedechoes if I may jump in. I love the size of the L1917. The paper is a little thin. Ryder Carols edition 2 bullet has 120 paper. I love it. If a small size is desired then the baron fig are a fav of mine. If only they numbered the pages.
@terrygrier I'm will be setting up an Edition 2, shortly. My first purpose designed notebook, but second Leuchtturm. There are so many great choices, though! Scribbles that Matter, Doane Paper, and Rhodia make products I have loved.
@JohnPhilpin Nah. It’s just a little joke between us. I suppose, after 16 years, I could drop the Main.
@timapple Excellent Tim. I hope it serves. I am moving back to Analog as possible this year. So if there is a choice - I could do this dig or I could use paper … I am picking paper. Including my calendar.
@timapple I love it. I do the same. I had some 4x6 cards printed - simple - just with my name on top .. and if I speak to or think of someone - I write them a little note. Thank you for sharing. I enjoy your posts here and wish you a happy new year!
