@timapple I have downloaded the Windows app with 14 day trial. Thanks for the heads up. I kind of like their distraction-free editor.

@alanralph I tried Ulysses and never understood it. It didn’t click with me. I’m liking iA Writer so far. And, their one time purchase philosophy is something unique in the App space.

@ridwan @timapple @alanralph When—not if—I write my first novel, Ulysses offers much better long form support through it’s setup of sheets and metadata for what I need. Add to that it’s full publishing and editing support for Micro.blog and active development, and it’s totally worth the subscription cost for me. iA Writer is still an excellent app if you don’t need the extras that Ulysses offers.

@timapple I have done a similar workflow. Setup the iA Writer folder in iCloud and will using that for my writing workflow.

One thing I’m realising now is to the build a workflow checklist so I don’t have think about the posting steps every time I do.

Lately, what I have found is I’m relying less on Obsidian and using Standard Notes more. iA Writer will be a good add-on to SN.

@pimoore Ulysses is powerful for professional writers. I did the 14 day trial. I was overwhelmed and felt it was too much my needs. 🤣
