One of the most iconic images in Iceland is the mountain of Kirkjufell, near the township of Grundarfjordur. I visited the site a few times over our days in the area, photographing this icon from different view points and in different light.

@desparoz I love the softness of the flowing water contrasting with the hard rock of the mountain.

@desparoz This right here is the reason why Iceland is still #1 on my travel bucket list (though to be fair Ireland and Norway aren’t far behind).

@pimoore Iceland is breathtakingly stunning. Even having been there it is still high on my return bucket list. Which is a big call from Australia!

@odd Next trip to that part of the world hopefully have either the Faroe Islands, or Lofoten—or both. Simply stunning.

@desparoz yeah I have a coworker who’s going back there a second time, and I’m more than a little jealous.

@desparoz I agree. I’m a bit ashamed that im 52, and never been to Lofoten. It’s in my own country! I’ve been close twice, but never gone out there.

@odd I'm around the same age, and have visited many lands far afield, but have yet to see Uluru (Ayers Rock), the Kimberly Coast, King Island or many other Aussie icons.

And Norway—Lofoten and Svalbard—are high on our post-pandemic travel list. I look forward to visiting your beautiful country!
