I ran into a very insightful suggestion on a podcast recently. It was related to those of us trying to get in better shape after 45 or 50. Basically, the most important aspect of a workout routine for us is not getting injured. Injury becomes harder to bounce back from as we age.

@pimoore It's this incredibly long podcast. The first 32 minutes are about muscle physiology and certainly skippable. The rest is looking at different muscle-building domains in order to eventually talk about being highly functional into our 70s and 80s. I'll admit my head was reeling a bit by the time they came to the conclusion, but obviously I had some takeaways! podcasts.apple.com/us/podcas...

@rishabh Your article has come at a very apropos time for me. I appreciate you sharing it. I just closed all my tabs. I just changed my website / blog maintenance strategy to be way less time-consuming. I'd like to figure out a way to invert my lists (to-do and otherwise) to be both easily maintainable and generally not necessary as much as possible.

Hoping my tech-based efforts roll me into more personal subtraction. Though it all seems like something that takes a good amount of initial effort to eventually become less effortful.

@bjhess Hi Barry. Thanks for reading. Yes, the inner clarity requires more effort upfront and long lasting, but the path that follows is relatively easier. When we focus on the being, the "doing" takes care of itself. From what you shared, it seems you already have that inner clarity, which helped you do the things you shared. Wish you the best in your personal subtraction journey!
