Today my grandfather passed away. He was my last living grandparent so now that generation has completely exited my life and my parents have no parents.
Thankfully, my daughter’s grandparents are all still here. They came to celebrate her artwork being shown at the Detroit Institute of Art.
@gregmoore sorry for your loss Greg. I always feel there’s something more poignant about losing the last of a generation.
@gregmoore My condolences. It's an unusual feeling to have a whole generation gone. All the ancestors I knew from my parent's generation have died. The only person who knew any of them well is my older sister (14 years older than me). She not only grew up with them but also knew many of our mother's father's siblings. When she dies, all those memories will go with her.
