@jasonekratz I read his argument as the opposite, that one of the big complaints against big silos like Twitter is “What happens if they go away and you lose all your stuff?” He’s suggesting that most users don’t care about that.

@petebrown I don't quite get the idea of "owning your data" online, or of thinking that any online storage is "permanent," or that the big silos are a special problem in this regard. Every bit of data I keep online using any service could disappear today if the service went belly up.
