Got any tips for getting started with RSS readers?
I’ve installed NetNewsWire on my phone and laptop and they sync from FreshRSS which is running in my homelab.
Which feeds do you recommend?

@paultibbetts what do you like to read or care about? I basically don’t “surf” the web and haven’t since like 2006. Any website I like gets subscribed to via RSS.
@jsonbecker most of the sites are aggregators like Reddit, which I've just seen has RSS feeds available but I guess they'll be noisy. I want less surfing and more flicking through the newspaper at a beach cafe. I guess I'll have to put in some effort to get to that point.
@paultibbetts which sub reddits are your favorites? Find the sites that are commonly posted or on the wiki!
@paultibbetts This Week In Neovim has a feed. Any webcomics you like? Or maybe check out some directory sites like theforest.link or ooh.directory
@paultibbetts Tip: Substack and Ghost and (most) Buttondown email newsletters have RSS feeds so you can get them out of your email inbox. For WordPress sites, you can follow any tag or category by adding /feed at the end of the URL, if you don't want the whole site feed.
@paultibbetts Any of the bloggers here provide interesting things to read: frankmcpherson.blog/other-blo...
@jsonbecker I didn't think to check the wikis. I've found loads of interesting looking feeds that have been right under my nose this whole time, thanks!
@samjc TWiN sounds ideal and I've just found plenty of interesting on ooh.directory, thanks! I like xkcd but I can't imagine how the hover the image would work in RSS format 🤔
