I really want to recommend services like @netlify, but the lesson from history is to avoid pushing one particular company or product. I recommended people use Google once, and look how that turned out.

@paulrobertlloyd yeah but that's just how things go... I totally recommend netlify right now. I used to recommend AppFog at one point. (their free tier was pretty nice for hosting Fever RSS reader). So it goes.

@nitinkhanna Funny, I pretty much said the same in a reply over on Twitter. While it may be the way of the world, it’s still worth remembering sometimes. I’ve already priced in the ‘emotional cost’ of using Netlify, and am keeping in mind how I will make my escape when the inevitable happens. 😞

@paulrobertlloyd I like the idea of emotional cost of using these free services. I’ve realized that I’ve built my systems around free services and when they irritate me enough, I’ve paid up for em. Eg- hosting. Is that just how the internet works for everyone in the first world?
