@patrickrhone Thiiiiis so much this. My wife and I are closer than ever to being able to take a break, a mini-holiday if you will, and we're both agreed that even a retreat relatively close to home would be good. Tucked away in this idea is the reality that at some point we will just be we each other, sharing a room, doing whatever it is we like to do separately... and even the idea of it feels great.

That's not to say we don't do it at home, of course, but the problem is everybody else can easily bother us whilst we're here.

@simonwoods What's interesting is that what spurred this thought in me was driving home with my wife and daughter from a friend's annual party this past Saturday. The party was about an hour away, we were driving west, the sun was setting (and the sky was beautiful because of it), and our daughter was reading her book quietly in the back seat. We just drove, for most of that hour, in perfect silence, enjoying the rural landscape and each other's presence.

@patrickrhone Just thinking about that feels calming; meditative even. When I'm travelling I can't help but stare at the landscape, especially in a rural location.
