Bitcoin has gone crazy this year. That is more than a 10x price change in the last year, most of it in the last month! Doesn’t seem correlated to anything of measurable value. 🤷‍♂️💸

@jthingelstad Money itself is not correlated to anything of actual value. Bitcoin is fiction just as all money is.

@patrickrhone There are some huge differences between Bitcoin and regular money or securities. It is all fiction, yers. But with regular money you at least have some very solid safety nets that makes scams, insider trading much less likely. And you just loosing all your crypto money because you send it to somewhere that don't support it won't happen.

Plus that if you do anything crypto money it is far more likely your bank will flag you and you have to spend a lot of time proving you're not doing anything related to money laundry,

@hjertnes All decent points.

I don’t have any crypto money. At one point about 10 years ago, someone gifted me 0.05 of Bitcoin. I deleted the wallet because I switched to a 64GB MB Air and wanted the 3.5 GB of space more than I wanted the money. I won’t bother doing the math but that likely would have been worth a nice chunk of change today.

Oh well, It’s just money. It doesn’t really exist anyway. ;-)

@patrickrhone Interesting.

It would have been some money, and it is just money. People always get pissed of when I say that for some reason 😅

If that would have been regular money or securities the process of getting access to it would have been annoying, but not a big problem
