I’ve reset my Apple Watch and put it away. I’ll go back to it if they ever improve the battery life to a significant degree.

@SimonWoods my wife's new watch wasn't holding the battery for more than 8 hours. We took it to an App Store, they did a quick check of the battery health (100%) and sent to technical support. Two days later, they returned the watch back by mail.

We charged, wiped, and configured it from scratch as a new device. Same thing, 8 hours.

So we spend the day taking photos of the watch (Settings > Battery screen), showing the graph, the battery % and the last time it was charged.

We went to the App Store yesterday and showed them the pictures. No questions asked, 15 minutes later we were walking back home with a new watch.

Let's see how it behaves now. She has the 41 mm one and I have the 44 mm. Mine holds battery for one and a half days, which for me is good enough.

@otaviocc had a problem with one before - the battery had some "bad sectors", which made it die when it reaches that point. Had it repaired. Wish we have an Apple Store here, though.

@otaviocc Apple's service-at-store continues to be one of its best selling points for me. With regard to the Watch, I just don't want to deal with another device that needs to be recharged that often.

To be fair, it might never be good enough for me since I will have developed a preference for not having to think about such things in general — the phone and the earphones feel like more than enough already — but it has at least prompted me into remembering the joy of analogue watches.
