The XCOMP 10MB hard disk, which cost $3,398 in the early 1980s, would be about $11,900 in today’s dollars. The first computer I owned was an IBM 486/33sx with a 140MB, hard drive. I bought it at Circuit City in 1993. What was yours?

@amerpie My very first computer was a Sinclair ZX80 back in the very early 80s, but it hardly deserved the name of 'computer' 😅 I just remember playing rudimentary tennis games on it, hooked up to the TV.

@rscottjones @onewildcrow - The only experience I had with computers before buying my own was a handheld device I used in my Army specialty, calling artillery fire. Knowing the Army, I'm sure that even back in the early 80's it cost many thousands of dollars.
