Take a look at photos of living rooms from before the television era and you will see we arranged the living room furniture differently before TV.
@bradenslen Interesting. Maybe it’s either or now. A lot of people have dropped TV, but I’m guessing a large majority still have TVs.
@odd I think you are right. If one has a TV in the room it becomes the focal point and furniture tends to get arranged so you can watch TV. Without a TV in the room you can arrange furniture as you like.
@bradenslen that was one of the big point we changed when we moved to our new flat. No TV in the main living room.
