Listening to tech podcasts regaling about Apple’s 2023 iPhones and Watches is as interesting to me (read: not) as any unobtainium in this world. It’s an insta-skip.

@renevanbelzen yeah, I'll skip a couple more generations myself. What I want to know is, why titanium. Is there a business reason? I understand it's hard to machine.
@rickcogley I understand it can be made thinner and still have similar structural integrity as stainless steel. So it’s a material and weight-saving measure.
Stil, my problem is price. All I could afford in 2020 is an iPhone SE, and even that has to last many years to rationalize the expense.
@renevanbelzen my wife and I were just talking about the expense of upgrading and maintaining devices last night. So much depends on having a device these days…
@rickcogley I know, right? I've entered the age of the "personal spying gadget" kicking and screaming, until it was no longer possible to live without. Sported a dumb phone for a long time. TV's and cars are equally bad nowadays, selling knowledge about your personal interests to the highest bidder through creepy data brokers.
@renevanbelzen really, not to mention subscriptions. I read one of the high end car makers charges a fee for extra acceleration! I can imagine all sorts of absurd situations!
@rickcogley Double fee for braking!
@odd your credit card was declined; to activate braking, enter a valid credit card now :)
