I hate subscriptions that renew without as much as a simple warning email a couple of days before, letting me know I’m about to be charged.

That’s why those that are not critical are set up with virtual cards that expire as soon as first payment is done.

Try that, I’m done.

@maique Yes! Right before payday there are very little incentives to keep those subs. I’m often juggling bank accounts, and sometimes you get charged on a weekend, and there’s no way to transfer any funds. Also: Every service should offer to charge on a specific date. (Payday)

@odd For me it’s not even a matter of before/after payday. I consider this a very shady practice.

Just yesterday I received a very nice email from another service, letting me known my trial was about to end in a couple of days, my card would be charged Z amount, on day X, at Y o’clock (!). And that I could always get in touch if I wanted to change/cancel the subscription.

That’s how I feel things should be handled. Unsurprisingly, it came from a Micro.blog member’s service! 🤩

@maique thank you 🥰 I do like renewal emails, although sometimes I think people don’t want them… I’ve been caught a few times though, so that’s why I do it.

@vincent I appreciate every subscription email. Failing to send them just feels like a very bad business practice.
