New Zealand bans export of live animals. Good news, but what about pedigree kittens and puppies?

@odd I don't know if you're being serious … but the law almost certainly only applies to livestock being exported for slaughter in another country. I'd be fairly sure that live animals can still be moved from one country to another — eg horses to be used in equestrian sports, pedigree pets, and so on.

@Miraz I was, and I noticed they wrote live animals, not livestock, that was the reason I wondered if they had thought this through. That horrible shipwreck was awful, even if the animals were facing death eventually.
