@kimahlberg The variation between the price and what I actually pay is worse than I thought:

@kimahlberg It's available in English, Swedish, and thanks to a friend, Danish. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🇩🇰🇸🇪

Now I need to figure out how to do Norwegian 🇳🇴 and Finnish 🇫🇮 to complete a full hand of crossed flags.

@odd Interesting! How much of the difference is sales tax though? I know consumers in both Sweden and Denmark pay 25% sales tax on top of the spot price (plus whatever fees from their electricity provider).

@kimahlberg For Norwegian I could maybe help, if a former B+ student, but amateur is interesting.

@odd Would you be willing to do that? I would definitely appreciate it.

There are roughly 50 sentences, mostly short ones. Can I send you the information and you can let me know if it's possible?

@kimahlberg It might be 25% here in Norway too, (the usual sales tax). My provider adds 1 øre to each kWh they buy from the power companies on Nordpool, then there’s a 49kr fee/mo that is what they earn per customer.

@kimahlberg There's a contact form on webpage (linked from my profile) if you want to send me your email address in a more private manner.

@kimahlberg Sure! Send it to oeauran(at)gmail.com. I’m calling it a night pretty soon, but I can have a look at it tomorrow.

@odd Will do, thanks! 🙌 It might take me a few days to prep to make it easy for you to get an overview.

@odd There must be something more because the difference is still 36 øre, unless the two apps are using wildly different Euro conversion rates. (328 + 1) x 1.25 = 411 øre

@kimahlberg There is another cost: purchasing expenses:

Strømprisen hos Tibber - kort forklart | Tibber Support Center

In the text it looks like Spot price + 1 øre is it, but at the bottom of the page it explains what “kostnad for å dekke innkjøp av strøm” (expenses to cover the purchase of electricity), means, and it’s not included in that 1 øre.

@odd interesting that they don’t give a number for it. The phrasing certainly implies it is included in the 1 øre.

@kimahlberg Yes! I may shop around I think. According to strompris.no, they were among the most affordable. 🔌

@odd The difference might be an additional electricity tax on top of the sales tax. It looks like there was a 32 øre/kWh tax in 2020, so if that tax has increased since then it might make up the full 36 øre discrepancy. www.statista.com/topics/92...

@kimahlberg Aha! I’ve been unaware of this. They ought to waive that with today’s prices.

@odd That would be a good idea to help ease the pain of the high prices.
