Hah, I hate stereotypes about older people. However … 7 of us at brunch, aged between 64 and maybe 76. First topic of chat: eyesight problems. Followed by discussion of hearing problems and forgetfulness. Sigh.

@Miraz I think this kind of sharing and commiseration is important as we all face our own mortality. It can help us feel less alone. But also it's fun to talk about what gives us life and joy to balance that out a bit!

@cygnoir πŸ˜€ We moved on later to travel, movies, cars being stolen, dogs, and other more cheerful and general topics.

@cygnoir That’s a good point about sharing to help manage not feeling alone in what you are going through. Maybe on a similar topic 🀨, how are your feeling? How are the COVID symptoms?

@Miraz re medical / health talk, a friend of mine calls that the "organ recital".... btw I tried the shoelacing method you posted a few months ago with a pair of new hiking boots that were bothering me. Worked great! Thanks so much for sharing that!

@crossingthethreshold I've been testing negative but today suffered a bit of a relapse, unfortunately. I rested up and I'm hopeful I'll feel better tomorrow. The fatigue is humbling. How about you?

@cygnoir I'm happy to hear that you are testing negative. I have a lingering, mainly unproductive cough. Fatigue has been my main debilitating symptom. I sense that it is diminishing, but like you I can relapse especially if I do too much...so I have to be patient with this. I have had some acupuncture that has helped. Rest up and listen to your body's needs. Give yourself the time that you need.
