Most of the time the answer to not having enough storage is to get rid of stuff, but with books, I tend to feel the answer is more bookshelves.

@KimberlyHirsh 15+ years ago I got rid of a lot of books as we were moving and would have less space to store them. Slowly, slowly the book count is increasing again. I have books behind books on the book shelves and last week for the first time I had to put a couple of books on top of the current books.

@crossingthethreshold I don't do books behind books, but I probably have quite a few in boxes. My goal is to eliminate enough that I only have enough for the amount of shelf space I already have. I just want one more teeny tiny bookcase...

@KimberlyHirsh I moved a few years ago and had to cull a lot of books. They’ve slowly accumulated again and starting to overflow the bookcases I swore I’d limit myself to. “Maybe if I just added another smaller one” has been my internal argument for weeks!
