Every now and then, there’s an XKCD comic which I can make no sense of. Today’s (or XKCD 2626) was such. I am not that smart you see 😄

@amit It’s a 65536-sided dice he’s using for random generation. Here’s a d20, a 20-sided dice.

@amit I know that issue :-) I usualy land there: explainxkcd.com

@V_ Exactly what I did today 😄 // @odd

@amit Me too, but as it happens I got this one. Gamers use various multi-sided dice (like D20, a 20-sided one). This just extends the idea: you "throw" the D65536 to get a random 16-bit number. Not especially funny, I didn't think.

@amit Wow! Some guys are really serious about this comic strip! A HEXAKISMYRIAPENTAKISCHILIAPENTAHECTATRIACONTAKAIHEXAHEDRON!

Confession: There are often XKCD strips that goes over my head too.

@JMaxB It's the dice connection that I missed. And I agree, if don't get it, I don't find it funny :)

@odd Hah! Had the same thought when I stumbled across that explanation. 😄
