I started listening to the audio book of Christopher Paolini’s novel To Sleep in a Sea of Stars and my goodness, things happen very quickly, many of them awful. I’m a bit scared to continue.

@cfristrom @odd Yes, and it is a space opera/first contact story, very different from the settings of his earlier novels.

@cfristrom @odd So far it reminds me a bit of Iain Banks, although set at a much earlier stage of galactic civilization than his novels.
