It will likely be several months before live performance revenue returns in full. So we’re going to continue doing Bandcamp Fridays in 2022, on February 4th, March 4th, April 1st, and May 6th.

@toddgrotenhuis I like Bandcamp, but I don’t understand why they make search so hard. Is it because they rather have us sift through a big pile rather that just finding what we want to hear? 🤔🎵
@odd What don't you like about the search? I find it works pretty well (as long as they have the material, anyway) and the tags views supplement it for discovery.
@toddgrotenhuis They list everything in one list, when I just want to search for a specific album or artist. Either it’s me that doesn’t know how to use it, or it needs some filters.
@odd might be a difference between the app and web? When I search on the web there are filter/tabs for:
But to your point, those should be able to be picked before the search as filters, not just filtered out after.
@toddgrotenhuis I see. Thanks for bringing this to my attention! I’ve only used the web version for buying, else I like to use the app, (I’m 99% on the iPhone anyway). I’ll try more.
@toddgrotenhuis @odd I find that odd, too (no pun intended). I often have to Google what I want to find on Bandcamp rather than use the search function on Bandcamp’s own website. It’s frustrating because every service has great search capabilities these days.
Bancamp’s music player used to be super clunky, too. Took them years to straighten that out. And now it’s passable.
I say this with love, because Bandcamp is my first stop for purchasing music. If I can’t find what I’m looking for there (ha!), only then do I go elsewhere.
@josephaleo I wish Bandcamp where my only service, because they actually seem interested in being fair to the artists that are there. But so far I’ve only gotten lost there, and it took some effort to find things that I was specifically looking for. @toddgrotenhuis
