It’s interesting to see the technical knowledge and priorities of a software development team come through in the product they work on. Case in point: the syntax highlighting options for a code block in Confluence include ColdFusion, Delphi, Java FX, Groovy and Scala; but not Go.

@lmika Is Delphi still around? (The Borland Turbo→Object Pascal continuation)?

@odd I don't know, but I think it is. Looking it up in Wikipedia, the last stable release was September 2021. I'm also aware of at least one outfit that was (is?) using it, although this was 8 years ago and things may have changed.

I actually enjoyed building stuff in Delphi, back in the days of Delphi 7. It was the second language I learnt after QBasic.

@lmika Oh, I played around with Delphi 1 and 2, after having learned Turbo-Pascal, but not much came out of it. A couple of years ago I found out that the same Dane that made Turbo-Pascal also made* C#.

*) Not single-handedly I’m sure.

@odd Yeah, I haven't done a lot of C# but from what I hear it's a pretty nice language.
