@cliffordbeshers I’m partly thinking cigarette ash closeup, and microphone wind cover, but hmm… I do smoke now and then, and I have a microphone.
@odd I never smoke, so I've never looked at the ash close up. By getting warmer you are getting colder. Whereas, since you are generally colder, I thought you would be warmer.
@cliffordbeshers Not sure how to make it more correct… looks like looking at it from underneath, perhaps through a window. And the blue might be the sky?
@dejus I’m wondering if it could be ice on a tinted window (of a car). @cliffordbeshers
@dejus The blue is late evening light, yes. Note that there are icy, crisp parts, but there are also smooth parts.
@odd The latter.
It's a frost layer on a window pane, photographed at the end of the day, hence the blue light, with a street lamp providing the highlights. The structure is half melted from the afternoon's heat, which caused those smooth ramps. Also, this is really small, perhaps 2cm wide, taken with a 1:1 macro lens, so the depth of field is razor thin. This means that as you adjust the focus, you see different cross-sections, each with a different shape.
So, yeah, my first #WhatsItWednesday was pretty easy, so I tried the other end of the spectrum today.
