@JohnPhilpin 180° turn means going back. Back to when it was great? Make America Great Again? I know of course that’s not what he means. I strongly disagree that even a sizable minority is spoiled and lazy! Many work their behind off in two, or even three jobs to make ends meet. Its more that a minority exploit it’s employees and that expectations are so high, while reality is so brutal.

@odd i am with you (quoting people doesn’t always map to my agreement - more to a discussion point) - and here we are :-)

On the spoilt and lazy point - i think what he is referencing is lack of considered thought, assumption without analysis, taking things for granted etc etc

@JohnPhilpin Greatness self-declared is arrogance. Greatness is not something one can self-declare, and that is something American's can't seem the wrap their head around. The greatness of the United States is declared by people who at the time are living in another country and desire to immigrate to the U.S. The greatness of the United States was declared by the countries and people who our armed forces liberated during World Wars. We as citizens can and should apsire to make America great, but the ultimate ruling on it is defined by others.
