A trip down to my parentsā place means that Iāve been able to recover a few records!

@odd my turntable broke down about 10 years ago and I was in between places so this was my first time being able to play this specific record this morning!
@tibz My record player broke down in 1988(!), and I have just recently bought a new one, but would you believe it, it doesnāt work either! I think I yanked the power cord to hard when putting it together. Will have to replace it.
@odd aww man, sorry to hear this! Do you know if you need to change the entire turntable or just need another cable?
Highly recommend the affordable āPro-Jeft Essentials IIIā (we got the one with the pre-amp, to plug it easily into our existing connected speaker)
@tibz I think itās only the power supply cord thatās broken, so if I can, Iāll fix it myself, or get a new one. But Iāll have to check if it is indeed the power thatās missing. I have a multimeter (somewhere), so when I find it, it shouldnāt be a problem. š
@tibz A turntable is on my shopping list⦠together with records to play on it. I donāt mind admitting that itās mainly cause it looks cool
@derekpeden there is something really nice about that #slowliving experience tbh ā a record and a book and you can enjoy a calm hour with coffee (in the morning) or an (alcohol-based) drink of your choice (later in the day)
@derekpeden We bought ours during Spring Lockdown #1 and havenāt regretted it!

@tibz Looks great. Reminds me Iāve had to convince my parents not to throw away their vinyl.
