Loving my new watch. G-Shock GWM5610-1.
@jmreekes That’s a beautiful watch in my favorite Casio series! I have the DW5600E-1V and it’s ended up being the only watch I’ve worn every day since this whole stay-at-home thing started. A faithful companion and tool.
@twelvety It’s an iconic shape. I looked at the SW5600E-1V but liked that this one is solar powered and has atomic time keeping. Otherwise I think it’s the same watch
@twelvety The World Time function was another big selling point. Super simple to adjust the watch to whatever local timezone I’m in at work.
@jmreekes I’ll gladly admit that what sold me was that mine (or one very similar) was NASA-approved for space flight. For all those times when I need to go into space.
@twelvety I like that as well. If it can survive space, it can survive anything I throw at it on the ground or when flying
@odd The SKMEI watches look nice. I thought about some of the analog/digital G-Shocks but almost all of them are hard to read at a glance.
@jmreekes Yes, that was the problem I had with my G-Shock. Even the light didn’t light up the digital display. I’m not sure if I would recommend my watch to a pilot, as the light is actually making the big numbers illuminate in a bright greenish blue.
