Every now and then, I fire up Obsidian on my Mac and test the waters. I wonder if, back in 2020, before Craft came out, Obsidian would have clicked with me. I’m not so sure, but I still somewhat like it. 🤷🏻‍♂️

@numericcitizen What I like about Obsidian: data portability (Markdown files stored in local vault). Extensibility via a rich set of community plugins. What I don’t like: bland design. The mobile app lags behind its desktop counterpart. No native publishing support.

@numericcitizen bland as in functionality .. or appearance .. because the layer can be radically modified

@numericcitizen agreed that Obsidian doesn’t look as nice as Craft. But I couldn’t quite get Craft to click for me. In fact, trying out Craft and your excellent bible pushed me to try Obsidian and that clicked right away (this time).

@AlexKucera I should make An Obsidian Bible, maybe!

@numericcitizen I‘m sure it would find an audience.

@AlexKucera am I understanding that you were subscribed to the craft bible?

@numericcitizen I was subscribed to the Craft Bible for a short while. It was a great resource to understanding Craft better. I cancelled the subscription to the bible when I realised that Obsidian clocks much better for me.
