@numericcitizen What advantage does ChatGPT give you over Perplexity that makes you use it in parallel (and mention it first)?
@thosch Perplexity is more about searching the “current web” and I prefer the ways sources are presented. I like the follow-up questions at the bottom of the prompt’s answer. I’m paying for ChatGPT Plus but not for Perplexity. I use ChatGPT more, mostly for work. It’s complicated. 😅
@numericcitizen It’s the other way around for me: I have a Perplexity Pro account. I use it with a similar profile to you and I’m also very satisfied.
I threw a few USD at OpenAI for access to the API.
For the past two months, I’ve been trying to decide between Perplexity and The Assistant by Kagi. With the latter, I like the integration into the Kagi universe. In terms of content and presentation, Perplexity meets my requirements much better. As a company, I have a better feeling about Kagi than Perplexity. Better, but not really good.
Unfortunately, Mistral.AI as a European solution cannot meet my expectations.
@thosch I do subscribe to Kagi, too, but rarely use their AI stuff. Is there such a thing on Kagi, actually?
@numericcitizen It looks like Kagi has three levels of AI functions:
The latter is only accessible on the Ultimate subscription level.
@thosch thanks for this!
@abc yes, I do. I’m probably not using it to its fullest capabilities. I subscribe to ChatGPT too.
