I lived in Los Angeles as a teenager through the 92 LA riots, Northridge earthquake and different flooding events from heavy rains. I can’t imagine a whole entire neighborhoods where 95% of every structure is burnt down and no war was involved. This is the climate crisis I’ve been telling you about.

A television screen displays a live aerial news broadcast from Air 7 over Pacific Palisades. The image shows a vast area affected by the Palisades Fire, with numerous structures visibly damaged or destroyed. The on-screen text reads: 'BREAKING NEWS: PALISADES FIRE: 17,234 ACRES BURNED, 1,000+ STRUCTURES BURNED, 0% CONTAINMENT.' The broadcast is from ABC 7, and the time displayed is 9:31 with a temperature of 55°F.&10;&10;Let me know if you need any adjustments!

…I mean damn. Now I know what my Hawaii ohana meant with the Lahaina fire in Maui. “Words haven’t been invented for the sorrow, nor the hope to come.”

@starrwulfe and yet some are wondering if this is not an act of eco-terrorism...

@numericcitizen Yep, blame it on imaginary strawmen. That’s the American way. It’s really an act of under-preparedness and decades of underfunding, lackadaisical awareness, and good old fashioned head in the sand apathetical attitudes, hoping it will go away.
