@numericcitizen really? You think Elon Musk is stupid. He might be arrogant, flamboyant, charlatan, etc… but I wouldn’t call him stupid

@robj if the most (or one of the most) intelligent people used their brain to say stupid things and act in a stupid way, how should I call him, then? Hitler was probably brilliant and Trump too but they made quite stupid things too.

@numericcitizen

Hitler was probably brilliant and Trump too

On what basis do we arrive at that conclusion?

@numericcitizen well I guess it’s look at it differently. I have had some friends over the years (I am guess you have too) that are very bright, but have little common sense. Surgeons that literally can’t change a light bulb; engineers that can’t assemble a garage shelf; brilliant tech guy with zero social skills. I would still call them intelligent - not stupid. They may be awkward, incapable, or just outright wrong. It I still consider them smart

@robj It's funny because I have a son who is brilliant (study in Maths for Ph. D) and is often awkward socially, drinks a lot to become "more normal" (I know, that's not right)... can't do anything with his hands in the house... but when he does use his brain, he does that for positive things... so he is not stupid. Muck IS smart but also stupid for supporting Trump, leaving California because of a law that protects LGBTQ+ people, deleting CrowdStrike because of the incident... that's being impulsive and not that smart in the end.
