@Annie Doing mostly okay here. Most of our critical infrastructure is Linux based anyway. 🙈 Surely, though, feeling with everyone who has to fix this mess today. Tough work ahead.

@aa, there was an update at a security software provider that went wrong and took a whole lot of (windows) infrastructure with it. I'm also fine — I'm on holiday ;-). Ok I did check our system quickly this afternoon.

@gregmoore why feel bad, shouldn't they have better tested software update?

@aa Yep, what @V_ said. I'm not IT but I do a lot of supporting content. our devs were talking about it a lot today

@Annie Makes me happy I didn’t get a call back on a day like today.

@Annie Indeed. Worse, as I had to learn in my last job: Introducing infrastructure like the one that broke here just all too often is a mid-management decision, and the poor souls who have to fix its consequences would probably have done it better if one just let them. 😶

@Annie Made me glad I have now retired from a 100% Microsoft organisation (our regional hospital network), which had been affected in some places. Feeling sorry for the IT teams I used to work with, who are having to sort out a mess they didn't create!
