@martinfeld Good article but I'd argue macOS for ARM is an even more appropriate time.

@martinfeld @pyrmont interesting comments about macOS naming and numbering schemes. So this year, macOS 11.0. Then, with ARM based Macs, macOS 11.1. Or something like that. Remember that I’m the only guy thinking ARM Mac will run iOS, not macOS.

@pyrmont That’s a fair argument! As long as they do it at some stage! A new name would send the message that they’re taking it seriously.

@numericcitizen It would be very interesting to see how they’d manage both types of chip if they were different for iOS and macOS! 🙂

@numericcitizen Thank you for the link! Your piece was very interesting and you clearly put a lot of thought into it. The possibility of mouse support on iOS is surprising, even if mainly for text input and cursor movement. The point that you make about ARM being for iOS only is intriguing and I’m keen to see what Apple does here. Also, I do hope that the possible influx of iOS-style apps to the Mac will see high-quality versions being made, along with a fix for iOS-style icons and toggles that feel odd with indirect input like a mouse.
