@numericcitizen If you use Classic, Avalanche might be worth a look cyme.io/avalanche-photo-conver

@jbaty I use both. Will move to Pixelmator / Photomator…

@numericcitizen I dropped Lightroom last month. Without thinking much as I had backups. But it’s still pending to import a bunch of photos on Apple photos. I was only using for my Fuji photos. But it did not made sense paying 12 € for a cropping software. My photos workflow is a mess and almost nonexistent now. 😞

@pcora because of a lack of time, I'll tackle this project early next year…. but I'll be planning for it soon

@numericcitizen yup. I’ll probably make this a small winter project. It’s not like there are many options. I just wish Apple Photos was a bit better for organization. Or that they bring aperture back. One can dream..

@pcora for photos that used to be in Adobe's ecosystem, I might decide just to drop them in a folder organization structure... not within Apple's iCloud Photos Library.

@numericcitizen I use Apple photos for storage na formerly Photomator for editing. I wish Apple Photos would become more aperture like in its functions, but the benefits are worth the limits to me. The fact it has much more features on macOS than iOS/iPadOS is frustrating as well.

Photomator I find an absolute delight to use.

@DaveyCraney every year around about now I think … this year mail and photos on iOS will have smart folders.

@JohnPhilpin Totally! They have rewritten reminders from scratch, have updates notes several times, released Freeform, have journal coming out, but the photos app seems to be pretty stagnant at the moment 😔

@numericcitizen I was tempted to do this. But I feel like such photos would just sit there forgotten. 🤔

@pcora you are right. With Lr, I process about 10% of my photos. Those would be imported into Apple Photos. They would then be resurfaced from time to time.

@DaveyCraney one thing that Photomator (or Pixelmator, to my knowledge) doesn't do is lens correction. Does it matter with the iPhone? 🤔

@numericcitizen the iPhone does lens correction itself ahead of time on the front end ultra wide (there’s an option in settings to turn it on/off). I can’t say it’s ever something I’ve felt the need to apply in edit. I will use Photomator built in perspective adjustment on occasion.
