At long last, Castro has been updated. To call me underwhelmed would be an understatement. It took them over a year to give it a slight visual refresh? Where’s the promised syncing between devices? Where’s the iPad app?
I’m so glad I switched back to Overcast.
@dandycat and we’re still waiting for Pocket Cast on iPad. Subscription business models is not a better guarantee than the previous business model it replaces. Sustainability is about the product itself and the craftsmanship… not tricks about making more money or pleasing VC investors.
@numericcitizen I think that can be a sensible way to view development and the app market. Seems like it’s the rare path for many these days. I wonder when or if the pendulum will swing the other way and (hopefully) find a balance between those business models.
@dandycat what I'd like to see more is a way to get a "lifetime subscription" or "one time purchase". Not that many apps are offering this.
@numericcitizen Gotcha and I completely agree. Anytime I see that option in an app I can’t hit that purchase button fast enough!
