Spent most of the day in front of a computer. Thankfully, I learned quite a bit about video production. I saved 400$ by not buying Final Cut Pro. I produced my first video of 2023.

@numericcitizen How did you end up creating the video? I saw your posts about Screenflow. For the past few videos I have made at work, I have just used Screenflow for everything, even though they didn't have any screen recordings in them. After thinking about that a bit, and running into some frustration with Final Cut Pro, I think I have decided that Final Cut Pro is not for me. I think it is the "magnetic timeline" that is in FCP. It has benefits, no doubt, but I think my brain just works better in a traditional timeline workflow.

I don't think Screenflow is necessarily the best, but these past two videos needed to go out quickly and it worked for what it was. When I have some time, I think I'm going to try DaVinci Resolve again. I played with it once, but never really gave it the attention it deserved. I also have a full Adobe Creative Cloud subscription, so I guess I should give Premiere another go, but it has always annoyed me for some reason.

@charper I'm using Screenflow and I love it. The problem is that 99% consists of screen recordings. Using FCP would had another step in the workflow. As documented yesterday (see my previous posts), I wanted to add some processing to the audio track (my voice) but I have to export each tracks and recompose in FCP. Yesterdsay, I did a proof of concept with iMovie and discovered that there is a desynchronization between my video and my voice (probably caused by Adobe Enhance Voice tool). It doesn't seems to be easy to fix without spending way too much time. Back to Screenflow. cc @ericwalk
